We’re not your average sports bar here at 33 Taps. We’re a full service neighborhood restaurant with an intense focus on our people, our food, and of course our beverage. We believe in offering our guests the best product at the best possible price, and always with a smile. It’s that simple.

Freshness and sustainability are also very important to us. We pride ourselves on serving fresh “made from scratch” food that’s never frozen, and sourced locally whenever possible. We strive to use environmentally friendly products and supplies across our entire business.

So, what’s with the 33? The number 33 is more than just a number. The end of Prohibition in 1933 signaled great times ahead. To honor that significant milestone in our country’s history, we decided to offer a rotating draft system of 33 great beers. Our tap handles pour a mixture of local craft brews, as well as some very well-known domestics and imports. There’s definitely a beer on tap for everyone.

Whether you want to kick off a night with friends, simply relax with a beer, have a great meal, or watch the big game - we’ve got you covered! We can’t wait for the opportunity to serve you!

The VIBE:

Was there a basketball game on Wednesday? Or was the pope in town?Either way. It was a sold out house that apparently wanted to witness the Raptors 14 point smack-down over the Warriors. Obviously, we had to call a delay of game......but eventually when 9pm rolled around.....we were able to get things going.

19 teams started...12 survived....

3 went home with a smile and a gift card....

....but only 1 team was crowned GRAND CHAMPIONS...

Let's do this.

 

The GAME:

It's Quizness Time had a perfect Round 1 and were a registered team....hence the other 18 teams should have already been on high alert. Or just high. One of the two.

Round 2/Picture Round showed us a Richard Nixon in the 1950's. Several teams immediately thought Nixon - crook - 70's....but he made a less famous speech several years before. Tricky. Yeah, I know.

I'm quite certain the sensitivity of the microphone enabled me to pronounce "pop-o-matic" with such flair during Round 3, as the teams tried to guess it's board game origin.

Round 4/Guess Who? seeeeeeeemed way too easy for most teams....but that's because only 4 teams end up having the correct answer. Sure, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Courtney Cox have both accumulated a massive amount of money on two giant TV shows....but Dreyfus has almost doubled Cox's worth since then.

Popeye's anchor tattoo was key for Round 5/Find the Connection as That Black Guy From Work (who was killing it by himself!) barely missed the double-up...ah, so close!

I decided to skip The Drinking Round as I noticed 3 am was approaching and we had already been there since Monday night.

Ever hear of a land called Far Far Away? Not to be confused with Star Wars which is a galaxy far, far way... Round 6/Matching had all the teams trying to remember which town came from which movie. No team scored less than 6 points. Two teams had perfect 10's and two more teams doubled-up...easily everyone's best round!

It all came down to Round 7 which was a crazy, fun mix of Full House, Socrates, and a man named Garfield. I know...bet you wish you were there now.

 

The RESULTS:

 

It's hard to keep track of soooooo many teams....and, truth be told, one team was even accused of cheating! Eh, Warriors fans probably.

3rd place....Downtown Sasquatch secured their spot after 2 back-back Rounds 6 & 7 - Solid game! (57 points)

The alliteration champs of the night - Paul Pierce's Poopy Poo-hole - pulled out an excellent 64 points for 2nd place....

...but nobody could ever catch the CHAMPS with 71 points...
