QUIZ RECAP

It was a rowdy night of trivia at Indie Brewing Company to kick off December! Fatiass and Houkago Trivia Time started the game strong, earning 7 points in the General Knowledge Round 1 and successfully doubling their points in the hockey themed Picture Round 2 for a total of 23 points. From there, Fatiass took the lead and ran with it, doubling again in the Disney themed final round for a total of 70 points and the win!

The PB's had a strong showing but were unlucky in their attempts to double the final two rounds, landing in fourth place with 32 points, respectively. Menwhile Feliz Navidog and Houkago Trivia Time were neck in neck from Round 3 on, staying within three points of each other until te final round, when Feliz Navidog was unable to double their points for the round and Houkago Trivia Time moved into 2nd place with 55 points.

Twas the night before Thanksgiving and Indie Brewing Company was LIT. The Lakers game was on, the crowd was getting ready for a mid-week day off, and lots of newcomers were able to join for an evening of trivia! Welcome to the game, y'all!

Fatiass started with a commanding lead of six points in the Thanksgiving themed General Knowledge Round 1, but Skittles were not far behind with four.

The Thanksgiving themed Picture Round 2 saw a complete flip flop, when Fatiass was unable to successfully double their points that round and had only their six points from the original round. Virtually every other team moved into the double digits, including a commanding lead from Skittles who (along with LA Over Beignets) successfully doubled the round earning 16 points! With 20 points for Skittles and 18 for LA Over Beignets, it was a tough race ahead for Fatiass.

The Elephant Themed Round 3 saw Fatiass as the only team to attempt a double or nothing, and this time they succeeded! Putting them in third place with 18 points, behind LA Over Beignets (20) and Skittles (24).

But the Guess Who Round 4 made things real interesting. Fatiass, Los Amigos, and Asparagus were able to successfully guess on the 6 point clue, but Skittles and LA Over Beignets guessed incorrectly, costing them a point and paving the way for Fatiass to take the lead with 24 points, followed by Skittles (23) and Asparagus (20).

The Mayflower themed Find the Connection Round 5 saw both Fatiass and Skittles successfully double their points, leaving Fatiass with a one point lead, but only Fatiass dared to double in the Thanksgiving song themed Hand Out Round 6 and their success put them solidly in the lead for the remainder of the game, winning with a full 15 points more than the second place team (Skittles, with 57 points, respectively).

I'd like to say it was an epic comeback victory, but Fatiass themselves said "don't call it a comeback." Instead I'll just say "Congrats!"

Truly a blast of a way to kick off the long weekend, hope to see y'all next week!

QUIZ RECAP

Another Trivia Night at Indie Brewing Company, and this time Mercury Retrograde has finally ended, putting yours truly at ease. While the score may not show it clearly, this game was a close race.

The General Knowledge Round 1 managed to trip everyone up with a question about Rhapsody in Blue, and even after the picture round of famous Olivias every team was within 5 points of each other. Truly anyone's game!

But the stakes rose in the Half Themed Round 3 when the Quid Pro Bros, Fatiass, and Paddington Kills all successfully doubled their points for the round putting their scores in the 20s.

The Guess Where Round 4 saw the Quid Pro Bros tie Fatiass with 26 points and Paddington Kills move into first place with 31 points, but it was still too early to count out Houkago Trivia Time who (along with the Quid Pro Bros) successfully doubled their Round 5 Card Game themed points to move into first place (46, Quid) and third (39, Houkago) with Paddington Kills in second with 41.

But wait, there's more! While Fatiass did not succeed in the double aspect of Double or Nothing in Round 5, they were successful in their International Sauce knowledge and, along with Paddington Kills, doubled their Round 6 scores, putting Paddington in first with 61 points, and Fatiass only two points out of the top 3.

But no team was able to successfully name all 10 of the most densely populated states for the final Round 7, so while the Quid Pro Bros came in closet with 9 out of 10 possible points, it wasn't quite enough to usurp Paddington Kills who finished with an impressive 70 points, scoring 8 points in the final round (along with Houkago Trivia time, who finished third).

Fatiass still managed 50 points, an impressive considering they had back-to-back scoreless rounds, and Prestige Worldwide wasn't too far behind with 24 (one measly wrong answer keeping them from successfully doubling in Round 5). But Fatiass did manage to win the Bonus Round by coming in closest with their guess for what the most recent year (prior to 2019) Mercury transited the Sun, so they're still champs.
