QUIZ RECAP

Fantastic evening of KingTrivia at Strand Brewing Co. in Torrance. Felice Catering was also in the house serving up their delicious wood fired pizza. I had the Buffalo Chicken it was delicious.

All 13 teams got off to an even start but then in Rd. 2, 3 teams doubled successfully and the race was on. Had a number of rounds where teams got em all right but did not double, shoulda, coulda, woulda!!

It became a 4 horse race by Rd. 6 but all the other teams were giving it their best. In the end one of my favorite groups Pussy Posse put the finishing touch on the win by doubling successfully in Rd. 7 giving them 1st place. 2 of our registered regulars, Gattaca and Foursome took 2nd and 3rd.

2 of out other regulars, Sam's Family and Great Minds Drink Alike were in the house but both had off nights. Great Minds is trying to get into the top 100 and will have to have some strong games in the coming weeks to get into the Tournament.

QUIZ RECAP

Round 1 saw one of our registered regulars, Foursome, get off to a rough start by doubling incorrectly and earning the big goose egg. However, they came right back in Rd.2, doubled and nailed it! Amazingly, the other 4 teams did the same so we had a nice battle in the works.

One of my favorite groups showed up, Pussy Posse and they came ready to play. They were strong throughout and also were very entertaining and made me laugh quite a few times.

Another of our registered regulars, Gattaca, was with us and as always were right in the thick of it.

Played "5 second clock" for the beer round and Gattaca won by .01 seconds for the free brew.

It came down to the last round and we were setup for a least a 2 way tie but in the end Foursome was just too strong and took 1st place. Pussy Posse was impressive and took 2nd and Gattaca finished in 3rd. The Stranded and Florida Man finished up 4th and 5th but both a very nice group of players. Florida Man changes their name each time they play but no matter the name, they always give me great laughs with some of their creative answers!

QUIZ RECAP

What a great night of KingTrivia at Strand Brewing Co.! I gotta say it was a pleasant surprise cause I thought everyone would be home watching the Dodgers lose 🙂 but the game was on the big screen and game was on in Trivia.

Began with 13 teams whittled down to 11 who were all ready to play. Pretty even in round 1 but Whiskey Glasses (Whiskey is their dog) got em all but did not double. Round 2 got interesting when the top 3 all doubled and nailed it! Honda AF and Tropical Heat were hanging tough and were in the thick of it into Round 6.

Our returning champ from last week, Gattaca, was having a bit of an off night but showed their spirit by doubling successfully in 6 and 7 to finish in a respectable 4th place.

In the handout round you had to match the Math concept to it's symbol and 9 teams got em all and even more fun 7 of the 9 doubled! A heartbreaking moment, Tropical Heat doubled but put the wrong symbol for Integral and had to drop the goose egg on them. I had him come up and showed him the error and he knew it right away. Tough break for a really great group.

Nice to see one of our regulars Sam's Family take home the free brew by winning "stick the landing". Nicole was relentless bouncing the pencils into the cup.

Heading into Rd 7, 5 teams were in the mix and we saw 5 teams successfully double. In the end Great Minds Drink Alike, showed why they are top 100 contenders and took 1st by 1 point just beating out More Cowbell. Foursome finished 3rd and it was a very exciting match to be a part of.
