About Casey's Irish Bar & Grille

Originally built in 1916 as a general store and Turkish bath house, Casey’s Irish Pub opened in 1969 before being annexed into Cedd Moses’ 213 Hospitality group in 2007. The underground pub, set in one of Central Downtown Los Angeles’ only single-story buildings, serves a variety of purposes, acting as a restaurant by day and a casual bar spot at night. The full bar, highlighted different varieties of whiskey, is accompanied by a food menu offering both traditional Irish dishes as well as sports-bar staples like wings, burgers and sandwiches. The 10,000-square-foot space is surrounded by photos of athletes and features an outdoor patio, a dart room, billiards, ping-pong, multiple TVs, and several reception rooms for private parties. In addition, its performance stage offers live entertainment such as musical performances, comedy routines, and trivia.

Casey's weekly pub quiz was a true thriller Monday December 12th, with a single point separating the top three teams, and not one but TWO Rock-Paper-Scissor showdowns to determine bar tabs and drinks.  In the end, it was SAY MY NAME who knew the most about monkey, fairies, and Rebecca Black and brought home the $50 bar tab for future use.  And we all learned that though the butler sometimes does it, an orangutan can too.

Trivia Monday at Casey's played to a packed house this week, as ten teams came to conquer, and ninety dollars plus five free drinks were distributed among the patrons. A huge double in the final round pushed SAVED BY THE WELL to a comeback victory over rookie sluggers Gotta Ketchum All.   And we all learned that while Jerry Sandusky might be a predatory WASP, a predatory wasp is in fact known as a yellow jacket in North America.

Monday's Pub Trivia Night at Casey's begat one of the most exciting game in the entire Trivia Kingdom, with the top six teams separated by a single point each heading into the final round (40, 39, 38, 37, 36, 35).  In the end, three teams doubled successfully to pull into the money, and perennial powerhourse Saved By The Well ran their banner up the flagpole one more time.  And we all learned that the turkeys President Obama pardoned this year were not named Mike and Donald, but in fact Tater & Tot.
