Another delightful night of cutthroat trivia competition this week at The Back Door Bakery and Caf?, where the food is delicious, the quizzers are delightful and time seems to stop for two hours every week while we engage in King Trivia excitement.
Congratulations to Lucky Lukes, who harnessed the energy of their third-place finish last week and rode it to the top of the scoreboard this week. WINNING!
Frequent top-three finishers, Hodge Podge and Shana Maidelas also put forth their usual fine efforts, and we even made a few new quiz friends last night. So all in all, in was another excellent evening at the DBD - where the only thing we haven't decided yet is what we like better, the bakery part, of the caf? part.
It's so hard to decide which we like best. Come choose for yourself. We'll be back next Wednesday. See ya then.

Between quizzers and spectators, the largest crowd of the season turned out this week at The Back Door Bakery and Cafe. The rambunctious group of quizinators and kibitzers enjoyed an evening of delicious food for the tongue, and stimulating food for the brain in a raucous session that was rich with "spontaneous commentary."
Are you a dedicated quizinator or a curious kibitzer? Either way, we'd love to see you next week at Sunland/Tujunga's most delicious and delightful fun time destination.
And just so we know we warned you: you may come to kibitz (and nibble) but we'll turn you into a quizzer in very short order!!
See ya next week.

Smell the roses. Smell the coffee. Whatever it is that makes you happy.
- Rita Moreno, EGOT Recipient
Ya gotta respect any opinion expressed by an EGOT recipient. And there is certainly no arguing with the elegant Ms. Moreno's views about the beneficial effects of pleasing aromas.
One place where pleasing aromas certainly abound is The Back Door Bakery Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga. Actually, this week, you could scratch the "Sunland" part of the name, considering the deluge that our intrepid quizzers braved to gather at the BDB this week.
What better place to quiz your way through a storm than the warm, welcoming environs of the BDB, where the room is warm, the people are welcoming, and the smells!? Oh my goodness, the smells! I mean, COME ON! It's a bakery, after all, right?
SO there we were, gathered near the pastries, to engage in trivia battle among friends and neighbors. Brian and Sarah (photo #4 above) provided the most appropriate team name of the night, Cats & Dogs Outside. But it was warm and toasty inside, and you could find worse ways to get through a winter evening.
So join us. We'll be back next Wednesday. Come for the delicious food. Stay for the trivia (food for thought). We'll nourish you, body and soul!
