Yes, friends, we are BACK from the holiday hiatus at The Back Door Bakery Cafe in Sunland/Tujunga, and it was great to see so many familiar faces last night, flush with excitement and ready to take on a new year's worth of King Trivia challenges.
Jen Kennings (man, that name sounds familiar) led all scoring with an impressive 73 points, followed by frequent top performer Hodge Podge with 63, and Shana Maidelas rounded out our winner's circle with 62.

With the holiday season upon us, and Christmas just a few days away, we wound up the 2019 trivia season this week at The Backdoor Bakery Cafe with a warm and rousing edition of King Trivia.
Hodge Podge led the pack with an 84-point winning effort. The Troika and Or WHAT!? rounded out the winner's list with 65 and 64 points respectively. And OK Gen-Xers! won the drinking round.
But really, everyone comes away a winner after an evening of rivalry and revelry at the BDB. Deb and Reno - and this humble quizmaster - wish one and all merry and bright holiday season, and a happy new year.

I just realized why I love hosting trivia at the Backdoor Bakery Cafe so much. It's the aroma. Cookies, cakes, and other things baked. The air is filled with the glorious aromas of all good things that scream out "LOVE!"
Of course, that love takes a back seat to competitive intensity for two hours every Wednesday evening. And so it was last night at the BDB when Shaina Maidelas dominated the scoring and ran away with a 70-point win. Well done, Maidelas!
