QUIZ RECAP

A quality trivia night in downtown San Jose as we were granted a brief respite from the heat of summer for a cooler evening game. Eight teams came out to dance the trivia tango, and many familiar faces brought reinforcements.

Ask My Balls played with seven members, and it was enough to net them a towering 85 points. They were trailed by several teams which put up good enough scores to win in other weeks, but not this stacked game. The teams as a whole displayed a surprisingly detailed knowledge of both birds and dessert, with plenty of successful doubles when it came to both picture and handout rounds. When everyone is good at the same categories, you have to be that much better to quaff the sweet nectar of victory!

Sometimes, a team jumps out to an early lead, and veteran teams make rookie mistakes trying to catch up. That was the story on Tuesday night as several teams that have taken home the gold in the past blew multiple double-up up opportunities chasing the lead. Object Permanence, who drops in maybe once a month, commanded the board early, and left chaos behind them. Congratulations on a well-earned win!

A record 11 teams came out on Tuesday night to compete for trivia glory at the Fountainhead, and the action didn't disappoint! Veteran teams doubled up early on round two, but the newer teams caught on quick, and the game was anyone's to win. Ultimately, Automating America couldn't hang on to the relentless onslaught of Ask My Balls, who edged them out by a single point, but next week could indeed be a different story!
