QUIZ RECAP

When the Earth's A Quakin', Founders Ale House A... Populatin'?  You know, like a play on one of the team names tonight (see score board).  You get it? Like, people came into Founders the night after an earthquake, because... life is short and the "Big One" could happen at anytime so we have to drink as much beer as we can at all moments following a little taste of what will happen when the Earth's plates start dancing to the beat of Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough" like a drunk uncle at your cousin's wedding.  Ya get it?  Am I right?

In other news, the Ancient Geezers must have lost some of their mojo in the earthquake since they didn't even finish in the top three.  It's either that or the three winners tonight gained super human brain power during the 'quake while working late in the lab that night (they all happened to be in the same Westwood, radioactive lab around 11pm when the walls started shaking and one of the experimental chemicals got knocked over and spilled all over our three winning teams).  It could have happened.  But probably not.  I keep trying to tell you about tonight's trivia but I keep getting sidetracked by the earthquake.  Did YOU feel it?

Congratulations to Interrobang Gang! (pictured first) who finished 17 points ahead of the second place team.  They really pulled it together after their successful double down in the 5th round.  The Hammer of Glory (pictured second) deserves some props for coming in second without doubling down the entire night.  Slow and steady, baby.  Lastly, I'd like to give a shout out to Master of None (pictured third) for making it into the winner's circle at Founders for the very first time.  Your patience has paid off.  Thanks for coming out, ya'll! And congrats on surviving the 'quake!

QUIZ RECAP

Troop Beverly Hills Adjacent (pictured second) started out strong tonight, with two successful double downs in the very beginning.  Then they put Russia instead of the Soviet Union as one of their answers in round 3 and wrecked their momentum.  A lot of people were upset with my strict ruling on that answer.  I stand by it though.  In High School I answered Russia instead of the Soviet Union for a specific Cold War question and got it wrong so why should I be so lenient now that I am a Quizmaster?  Ya'll can blame my 11th grade history teacher for my bitterness.  Congratulations to the Ancient Geezers (pictured first) for their win!  Also, props to Interrobang Gang (pictured third) for their constant energy!

QUIZ RECAP

There were not a lot of successful double downs tonight.  In fact, there was only one, and it didn't happen until the last round.  Interrobang Gang (pictured first) nailed the naming of the 5 original X-Men from issue #1 as well as the 5 original colors of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.  That 20 points gave them the strong finish they needed to secure first place.  Cheater, Cheater PSL Eater (pictured second) was in the zone tonight as well!  The third place finisher started off slow but by the third round they were moving and grooving their way to the winner's circle.  They were fighting with the Ancient Geezers (pictured third) for that $25 bar credit but the Geezers kept on keepin' on and locked in second place at the end of the 7th round.  It was a fun night for sure! Even Nolan's mom showed up!  See ya'll next week!
