QUIZ RECAP

Tonight was the debut of my favorite visual aid: Mr White Board! He helped me track and display all the team's score while being super sexy.  I am a super visual person so I thought I would cater to my fellow peeps and keep scores visible throughout the entire game. We're you a fan? I was! Now, I only need a "Vanna White like" assistant to help me update scores and I'll have the hottest trivia night on the planet! Stay tuned!

Besides my new gimmick of a score board, tonight's game was a very competitive session.  All the regulars were back at it, doubling down hard! Troop Beverly Hills Adjacent took an early lead (with their successful double down and bonus two points for their registered team number in round one) that lasted throughout the first four rounds!  But their slow and steady pace couldn't withstand The Hammer of Glory, as they NAILED the "find the Connection" round.  From then on, Hammer rode their successful double down right to the Glory of first place! It was so Glorious, I just had to get a picture of them with Mr White Board.

Congratulations teams on surviving Memorial Day weekend and coming in for an awesome night of trivia! Mr White Board and I will be back next week at 8pm!

QUIZ RECAP

Great to see all the regulars back at Founder's Ale House tonight! I am loving the energy you guys bring every Tuesday night! It makes me feel like Bob Barker!

Tonight, so many teams wanted to hit that double or nothing score so badly. Unfortunately, a lot of them did not succeed. Both Cher's Missing Nipple and Interrobang Gang went for it all night and never got it. It was so hard to watch, I was rooting for them the entire time.  Alternative Answers (pictured), on the other hand, learned their lesson after doubling down unsuccessfully in the 2nd round. From there on, it was slow and steady wins the race for their team.  Even when they thought they knew all of the answers in rounds 5, 6, and 7, they avoided the risky double or nothing and took the 10 points each time. They added consistent points at a conservative rate and ended up taking home the grand prize! Congratulations Alternative Answers!!

QUIZ RECAP

It was a room full of excitement as I walked into the crowded Founders Ale House, my hands full with trivia booklets and speakers. That excitement quickly turned into confusion and resentment, however, when they saw ME in my bright purple shirt.  Everyone glared at me wondering, "Hey, where's our usual trivia dude Austin?" I already knew it was going to be an uphill struggle to gain this giant group of smarties' trust and respect, a mission I didn't take lightly. A trivia group this size doesn't mess around when it comes to their regular Quizmaster role and I was out to prove that I had what it takes to be a part of the gang (not the Interrobang Gang specifically, but the entire gang. Yes, even the Ancient Geezers).

If You're A Beer, I'm A Beer, Troop Beverly Hills Adjacent, and Alternative Answers took the lead immediately, doubling down successfully AND having registered team names put them all tied at 14. From there, other teams started getting squirrely and doubling down to try and catch those top three teams. It wasn't all "Hurrahs" and high fives for those teams though, as some of the following rounds had a few tricky answers that busted their dreams of double digit advancement (Kansas City is not the capital of Kansas OR Missouri?! What gives, America?!).  In the end, after If You're A Beer, I'm A Beer took home the free drinks in the drink round, they also walked away with the $75 credit to their tab for the night as they won first place! A very successful night for a team that really knows their US capitals! Their Middle School Geography teachers would be so proud!

Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Founders Ale House. Everything I assumed, when I saw the gang's initial reaction to me walking in, disappeared. The people there were all super nice and supportive, even when they learned that I didn't know who Kendrick Lamar was. I  now look forward to Tuesdays. Thank you Founders Ale House!
