QUIZ RECAP

The Oberons defended their title from last week in a narrow victory over Paddington Kills, thanks to two successful doubles and an unfortunate missed double by Paddington Kills in round 5. Slo Mo Fos came in a solid third.

First timers Threat Level Midnight had a strong showing out of the box, only missing one question in the first three rounds, but they had a mishap in the guess who round then had to leave early, still finishing in fifth despite missing the last three rounds.

The Oberons also cleaned up in the drinking round, perfectly identifying the number of movies in the Land Before Time cinematic universe (14).

QUIZ RECAP

We had a chill night celebrating the rescue of missing Dog Jayda who was traipsing around Culver City for the last 4 days after escaping her dog sitter (By exiting through a second story window)!

Monica was all laughs as she valiantly attacked those questions she thought she knew, and James, although alone, threw himself into the fray, making his french fried potatoes into brain food.

One of the nicest guys you'll meet, Minestrone Tony, put His love of knowledge to good use and was a force to be reckoned with until he had to make tracks.

It was the Slo Mo Fos and the Panty Snatchers who formed an early rivalry, racing their way through the rounds, piling points on top of points, none the wiser to the threat looming from the shadows. Was it latecomers Triva McTriviaface? Although jovial, the real threat came from...

Forever (Still) Waiting! who pulled points in consistently until round 5, when a command of the field gave them the only double-down of the night, launching their score into the relative stratosphere on this beautiful planet we call King Trivia, and they commanded the lead until the sweet end.

Rocco's Tavern couldn't have been hungrier this cold and windy evening. Rain clouds threatened a downpour over Culver City, but nothing could dampen the enthusiasm of the rowdy teams in the tavern.

Paddington Kills started off light, as only one member of the group made it on time. He held down the fort, playing conservatively until the cavalry arrived. Area 51 came late to the party, but a few wins later they were in fierce competition for the lead.

The questions were far more difficult than many newcomers previously expected. Two parties--Shot Time and Chicago--found themselves unable to finish. They paid their tabs, turned in their pens, and limped home to quiz another day.

This left the playing field open for the hungriest competitors. In the final round, Teams left it all on the table to try and unseat Paddington Kills and their 5-headed Hydra of quiztacular knowledge. In the end, the PKs took the gold by a margin of 6, leading Area 51 and Slo Mo Fos.
