QUIZ RECAP

The points changed the leaders several times tonight, which made for an exciting game. Round 5 was a killer, all teams except 3 doubled down, and all were unsuccessful. Two brutal questions fooled the teams, the first and most diabolical, ended up being a grizzly bear (ursos arctos horribilis) rather than a polar bear, which is what the teams guessed. Only one team got this right. The second one was a Tony Kushner play in which Nathan Lane won a Tony for a revival in 2018. Only one or two teams got it right. Congrats to Purple Monkey Dishwasher (Also winners of the drinking round, thank you to my host Michael Miller from Tuesday's at the Tam o Shanter for letting me use his Coachella round) for a giant double in the final round to win the game!

What a huge turn out! I'm not the normal quizmaster but I was welcomed with open arms. We had 12 teams play til the end and the scores were close: just a one point away from 2nd to the 3rd place. The teams have a healthy level of smack talk too, which is good as I encourage it!

An unusually quiet night here. Usually we have teams in the teens, tonight we only had 6, and we made seven since one team grew to 11 people, so they split up into two.

Even so, we had fine time, I'm really starting to build a rapport with these players. I dig em. Starting to learn individual names of players. I told them I'd be missing next week and they booed hehe.

For the drinking round, inspired by a round one question, being a fan of palindromes, and to commemorate Napolean's exile to Elba on this date, I had them come up with multi-word palindromes (able was I ere I saw Elba). Winning team of the tie breaker were gracious enough to donate their pitcher o beer to the loser of the tie breaker (da Bears -> 2nd Cousins )
