What a way to end a decade. Had a barnburner of a finish as our top four teams were each separated by 1 itsy bitsy point. Kudos to Names are for Tombstones for making a valiant comeback after a failed double-up attempt put them in last at the first scoring break. No Punt Intended failed to capitalize on a perfect round, and that 10 point swing cost them the victory.

2020 is looking good so far and everyone now starts the next season on level footing. Please watch some movies this year. And maybe mix in a sporting event or two. It will pay off in your trivia performance moving forward!

Next time I see you, remember to honor the Cobra Kai code. This is the way.

It was (awesome) Taco Tuesday at the P.T.H, and more than the regular crowd shuffled in. A closely fought battle saw the lead shift back and forth and forth and back, but in the end it was newcomers Liberty Oilers (with the high score for round 7 ) surging past Fraggle Rock for the win (which had the high score for round 5). Those two had the top prizes, and then we had a tiebreaker for NOT LAST which was won by Bet the Farm over 1st in Gym Class. Thanks to Moon for shuttling down their answers from the balcony, and to Susan putting up with the not so wise men while the renegades had a reunion. I am not a real estate novelist, and do have time for a wife.

I wonder if y'all know Alferd Packer better than Alfred E. Newman?

Wax off for next Tuesday - no trivia no tacos on Christmas eve, but wait for it... Wax ON for New Year's eve for trivia (maybe a smidge earlier) and other activities at your favorite watering hole - Pour Tap House!

Thanks for welcoming me as your gimpified junior assistant quizmaster, and putting up with some gremlins in the sound system, (the microphone smells like a coke).

The holiday season is upon us. I'm more of a purist when it comes to Christmas (white lights on trees, no decorations or music until Thanksgiving at the earliest, etc). I did play one Christmas song tonight, "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year", mostly because it's the one and only best holiday song ever. Super upbeat and positive, evoking a mental image of the spirit of the season. Johnny Mathis provides such rich, resonant vocals and the counter melody of the trumpets in the background give it a special energy. It's a classic for many good reasons.

As for our quiz, our team of Starbucks baristas (Special Blend) were all over our stumper about "Grandes and Ventis", but our prizes eventually went to some powerhouse performances. We had four perfect rounds for our handout about spokespeople and their brands, followed up by a second round of perfection from Beersquatch in a feverish attempt at a come from behind victory. Alas, the Volley Llamas knew just enough about pomplamousse to fend off their furious charge.

As always, thanks to everyone for coming out. I know it's a night I'll never forget. Or maybe I will. My only real question for you is "You guys give up yet, or are you thirsty for more?"
