Full house, great game, exciting finish...we had it all at Collision tonight! After all the teams scored between 3 & 5 in Round 1, Fleetwood Mac Sex Pants jumped out in front with a successful double-or-nothing in Round 2, fully 9 points in front of #momjeans, 4-Way Stop and Trivia Trumps Debates. Trebek's Rejects leapfrogged those 3 into 2nd place after doubling in Round 3, closing to within 4 points of the leaders. The Guess Who round proved to be more difficult than usual, with no team scoring higher than 4 points (Insert Team Name Here declined to answer). while 4-Way Stop were high scorers in Round 5 (9 of a possible 10) to move into 3rd place. Fleetwood Mac Sex Pants had led the entire evening until Round 6, where #momjeans showed their '90's sitcom theme song knowledge with a successful double, catapulting themselves into 1st place by 2 points. In the final round, Trivia Trumps Debates, 4-Way Stop and Insert Team Name Here all succumbed to the temptation to "go big or go home"....and each took a zero; Limoncello, in the cellar all night, scored a 7 and nipped Team Name for 6th by a single point. Both Trebek's Rejects (3rd entering Round 7) and Fleetwood Mac Sex Pants (2nd) scored 10 of a possible 10 but #momjeans notched a 9 to edge Sex Pants by a single point to win for the 2nd consecutive week.
In the Christmas spirit, along with the usual gift cards ($10 for 3rd place, $20 for 2nd and $30 for 1st), each of the top 3 teams also won a six-pak of Collision Brewing's Red Rambler Red Ale. Thanks Jason! See you all next week!
After a week off, we had another excellent game at Collision tonight, with a full house too! Things got off to a fairly even start but in Round 2 no fewer than 5 teams successfully hit a double-or-nothing: #momjeans, Trebek's Rejects, 4-Way Stop, Slingers and Jeffrey Dahmer's House Of Ribs separated themselves from Limoncello and newcomers Satan's Little Helper. #momjeans, Trebek's Rejects & 4-Way Stop folowed that with ANOTHER double. turning the rest of the night into a 3-team race; this was underscored in the Guess Who round as Limoncello and Slingers declined to answer while House of Ribs and Satan's Little Helpers each took a -1. Trebek's Rejects were high scorers in that round, correctly answering for 6 points to take a 2-point lead over #momjeans and 4-Way Stop. Those three teams AGAIN doubled successfully in Round 5 (kudos to Slingers for getting 9 out of 10), but in Round 6 #momjeans took the lead by scoring 10 of a possible 10 (as did Slingers) to move 2 points in front of the Rejects and 3 in front of 4-Way. Trebek's Rejects made a bid for the lead with 9 of a possible 10 in the final round but that score was matched by #momjeans who repeated as winners, 2 points clear of the Rejects with 4-way Stop a further 2 points back in 3rd. Slingers played well to finish 4th with 50 points while Jeffrey Dahmer's House of Ribs (with birthday boy Dan) were also strong but could not recover from the -1 in Round 4 and were 3 points back in 5th place.

We had a GREAT turnout tonight at Collision, and another well-played game. Trivia Trumps Debates and #momjeans jumped out quickly, with 5 & 4 in Round 1 respectively and a successful double for 16 in Round 2; the night turned into a 2-team race between them for most of the game. Trivia Trumps Debates suffered a brief setback, taking a zero (along with Trebek's Rejects) from a failed double-or-nothing bid in Round 3, but each rebounded to score 6 in the Guess Where round; Fleetwood Mac Sex Pants and 4-Way Stop each took a -1 in that round to drop out of contention. Let it be noted that Limoncello, #momjeans and Trivia Trumps Debates also correctly answered the 6-point clue; credit must also be given to Dan who represented the Wet Dream Catchers by himself and was steady throughout.
In Round 5, #momjeans and Trivia Trumps Debates each doubled successfully, separating themselves from the pack and setting up a 2-team race for 1st place; 4-Way Stop and Trebek's Rejects each scored 9 out of 10 in that round. Fleetwood Mac Sex Pants hit a stunning double in the handout round to leap into 3rd place, where they would finish. Entering Round 7,#momjeans led Trivia Trumps Debates by 6 points; Trebek's Rejects, calculating (and stating) that they had "nothing to lose", tried for a miracle double to leap onto the podium.....and, agonizingly, got 9 of 10 right; their zero left them in tied for 4th with Limoncello. Insert Team Name Here, newcomers last week who came within 1 point of winning, started slowly tonight but were steady throughout to finish 6th. At the top of the table, Trivia Trumps Debates scored 8 (of a possible 10) in Round 7 but could not catch #momjeans, who coasted to a 7-point win by scoring 9. Hats off to the Moms: they hit 2 doubles, scored 9 of 10 twice and a 5 out of 6 on their way to victory.
We're off next week for Thanksgiving but will see you again the first week of December!
