RECAP

We had a rather strange game tonight with it being rather difficult as indicated by the lower scores & the fact that there was only one successful double the entire game. The victories were no less glorious though as a champion emerged while a 3 way tiebreaker for runner-up decided the fates of 2nd & 3rd.

Bruce Jennertalia, LA PUBLIC DANK, & Silver Lining Nose all had similar games with a bad round (-1 in round 4 for Bruce Jennertalia & Silver Lining Nose & a failed double for LA PUBLIC DANK in round 3) & amazing rounds (Bruce Jennertalia with two 9s in a row, perfect round 1 & a 9 for LA PUBLIC DANK, & the only successful double of the game from Silver Lining Nose). They end the game in a 3 way tie for 2nd! LA PUBLIC DANK is the runner up in the tie breaker & takes bronze, while Bruce Jennertalia wins the tie breaker & takes the silver!

TRIVIA NEWTON JOHN had an excellent conservative game excluding a bad round 7 where every team scored under par. Their points before were enough of a cushion & they win this very difficult game! Taking the gold & becoming the champions of the night!

RECAP

The game tonight had a very conservative start with only 1 successful double in the 1st half, however, the pace was ignited with a high scoring round 4 (where 9 teams got 10 points).

Big Buck Hunter '93 had a very slow start, but made themselves a force in an incredible 2nd half, getting 2 doubles & a perfect round! They snatch 3rd outta no where & take the bronze!

TRIVIA NEWTON JOHN followed a similar game plan with their own excellent 2nd half with a perfect round 4, 2 successful doubles, & a nearly perfect round 7! They steady the course & take the silver!

Fear of Flying, unlike these other 2 teams, not only had an amazing 2nd half, but also a very good 1st half! As if they needed that insurance though as they also have the best 2nd half of any team with 2 doubles & 2 perfect rounds (3 if you count round 3)! They end the game on a double & take the gold, becoming the champions of the night!

RECAP

This was an interesting game where round 1 was a big determination of the finals results of the game with our top 4 contenders getting perfect scores (2 of them doubling), while The Number of Homeless Dudes Sean Had Blown Is, a usual contender, had a failed double in round 1 which left them too wounded for the rest of the game.

Fear of Flying found themselves tied for 3rd with Elbow Grease, despite having more wrong answers (overall & in round averages) than Elbow Grease (who found themselves in the lead for the entire 1st half). The tie was forced mostly in part by an extremely well timed double by Fear of Flying in round 5. The luck continues for Fear of Flying as they take the tiebreaker & take the bronze!

Dan Would Know That had a breakout performance tonight with 2 successful doubles & a perfect round! Showing an almost veteran like patience, they cruise into 2nd, taking the silver!

Many people believe that being a champion is all about scoring points, but the truth is, anyone can score points. Every dog has it's day. Anyone can be a winner, but to be a true champion, you need resiliency. Bruce Jennertalia displayed that brilliantly tonight. They stayed calm when the pressure was on, like in round 4 when they decided to play conservative & received a hugely important 2 points. They chose their opportunities very wisely, doubling in round 5, which doubled their entire score & kept them with the pack, & then there was their legendary double in round 7 (the only double that round), which had them leap frog over 4 teams! & just when we thought this wasn't Bruce Jennertalia's night tonight, they defy expectations, take the lead at the last possible moment, & take the gold! & thus the reign of our defending champions is at 2 weeks!
