I'M BACK!

After two horrible weeks trivia-less, I have returned. And what a night to come back! Tons of teams, tons of fun, tons of bruised thumbs.

The rivalry grows! Bruce Jennertalia, Fear of Flying, Havin a Blast Crisis all vied valiantly for the top spot, but in the end our intrepid first-floor team had the winning score! Welcome back to the top spot, guys.

Extra-happily for them and extra-grumpily for everyone else, Bruce Jennertalia were also the winners of the evening's Drinking Bonus Round: THUMB WARS: March Madness! A bracket was created, bids were negotiated, and in the end the BJ representative's thumb was the one that could not be beat. Congrats again!

RECAP

1739 Public House is rapidly becoming one of my favorite places to sub.  The teams here are so enthusiastic and love trivia--a quizmaster could not ask for more!

This week we saw the return of some of our OG trivia squads:  thank you to THE NUMBER OF HOMELESS GUYS SEAN HAS BLOWN IS, BRUCE JENNERTALIA, and FEAR OF FLYING for joining us again this week!  GIRTH REYNOLDS, I missed you guys last week but thanks for coming out!

GRYFFIND-WHORES, we loved seeing you back as well!  (Quick plug:  ahem, don't forget to register your team on kingtrivia.com!)

Much love to LAZY SWAYZES for playing for the first time tonight.  I know y'all just came in for a beer, but you joined us for trivia on a whim! Solid effort from this team of just two players who fought till the very end against a lot of teams that had 5-6 players each!

Also shout-out to the amazing staff here at 1739--Coco, Robbie, Sarah (yes--here at 1739, you can only hang if your name is Sara(h) evidently) and Jesse!  Kudos to the wait staff for coming up with their own hilarious team name:  PUBE HOUSE.  I hope you guys can play with us some night!

Hey gang,

Apologies for the delay in blogging; I got a pretty gnarly cold last week and have been stuck indoors at home where I have no Wi-Fi (I know, I know...I don't blame you for judging me).

Let's get to the Trivia!  What a blast it was to cover for Sara over at 1739 Public House in Los Feliz, one of my favorite neighborhood bars.  Points go to all our regulars here, who had some of the BEST and most hilarious group names.

Congrats to SYPHILLIS TSUNAMI on their win and also to THE NUMBER OF HOMELESS DUDES SEAN HAS BLOWN IS for their drinking round win!  I'm super impressed you were able to recognize all Oscar-nominated or winning film scores--well done!

Hope you guys had as much fun as I did!  Sara is back this week with clear sinuses now that the rain has come and the pollen count is down!
