RECAP

It was a wild 'n' crazy night at trivia this week--so many teams! So many people! So much questions!

Competition was fierce and at the end of it all, our 3-week-streak 1st place champs, Bruce Jennertalia, finally got beat down to 3rd place (hey, at least still in the top 3, right guys?!). Who beat them, you ask? Their fiercest rivals, Fear of Flying and Elbow Grease, who ended tied for first place! But, in the end, that's what tiebreakers are for.

Our Drinking Bonus Round this week was a little chaotic thanks to a poorly-planned out attempted game of Red Hands by yours truly, but our triva-ers were gracious and at the end of the slapping (and number-guessing) one team returned to their table victorious with beer: Quizteama Aguilera! Congrats!

RECAP

A full house at 1739 Public House this week! It was a rowdy time but our teams managed to stay focused and rack up some impressive scores. Some of our regular teams simply were no match for The Taylors and Thank You Mask Man, who ended in 3rd and 2nd place. But the team who rose above them all was, yet again, Bruce Jennertalia! Their winning streak is getting a bit showy, dontcha think??

This week's Drinking Bonus Round was one of my all-time absolute favorites. Yes, it cost your Quizmaster a sleeve of Oreos, but watching our trivia players try to move a cookie across their face, from forehead to mouth, using only their face muscles was priceless. If only I had taken video. The winner was the representative from The Very Stable Geniuses, who put on quite the display of facial control/contortion. Congrats!!!

Happy Valentine's Trivia! While most of the usual crew for 1739 Public House trivia night was out having romantic dinners with their S.O. or themselves, the die-hards were out at trivia, romancing those answer sheets with their best thinking.

New/old-comers Fear of Flying gave our recent regulars a run for their money, but fell just short of besting champs Bruce Jennertalia, who leapt into first place with a well-timed Double or Nothing in the 6th round. In third place was the ever-delightful The Number of Homeless Dudes Sean Has Blown Is.... Warnings to watch and/or wash each others' backs bounced between those top three finishers... it sounds like there's more trash-talking to come. The drama is heating up on Wednesday nights!!

For our Drinking Bonus Round we did a V-Day classic: Best-Worst Pick-Up Line. The submissions were... let's say, terrifying. It was a tough call to pick the best one, but our guest DJ for the evening ended up giving the boozy final prize to Girth Reynolds, in a move that surprised, well, everyone. For your entertainment/horror, here were the submissions:

"Do the curtains match the drapes?" "No. Hardwood floors."

"If I told you that you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?"

"I like a girl with a fat chest." (Used IRL!)
