The Pub at Golden Road is a full-service, family-friendly environment located just a stone’s throw from Griffith Park in Atwater Village. Open 7 days a week, The Pub offers ample indoor and outdoor seating, over a dozen Golden Road beers on tap, and games for the young (and young at heart).
There is no place quite like the side yard patio at Golden Road Brewery on a deliciously balmy Tuesday night. That's where some of the most raucous, out-of-control, enthusiastic quizinators gather each week to test their mettle against the toughest competition in all of Trivia Nation.
And thus it was again this week, as 21 teams - pens and answer sheets at the ready - engaged in trivia battle. When the dust settled and the scores were tallied, there was a 70+ point spread from top to bottom, with Chicken Poodle Soup leading all scorers with an impressive 94! Wowza!!
But our heart feels the pain of Shark Bait, a tough and effective band of shark hunters who managed to rack up an impressive 83, just one point shy of the winner's circle! OH, that's gotta hurt like a bite from a Great White...well, you know.

As I've said many times, I do love me some clever team names, and leave it to our wonderful quizinators at Golden Road Brewery to once again offer up team names that are both clever and literate. A tip of the quizmaster's hat to Look Upon Your Answers and Despair! a name that channels the deep undercurrents of classic poetry with the intensity of trivia quiz competitiveness!
And a second hat tip to There is No Eye in Cyclops because - I mean, come ON! - who doesn't love clever word play!? No eye in cyclops! Oh man, that's funny! (All this hat tipping has made me realize that there is no official King Trivia Quizmaster Hat! This seems like an egregious oversite! I'll have to mention this to the folks down at headquarters!)

As I've said many times, I do like clever team names that capture the cultural zeitgeist with a riff on current events, trends and items in the news. With that in mind, I offer a big shout out and hearty congratulations to Now Russia Knows What's in Your Wallet!, for not only coming up with an outstanding team name, but winning our weekly trivia contest at Golden Road Brewery with an exceedingly strong performance.
And really to be fair, if I'm gonna put a little spotlight on fun and fanciful team names, I'd be remiss if I didn't give a tip of the hat to Das Poopensteins, who I am told are distant relatives of the New Jersey Poopensteins, who - as we all know - made their fortune in the portable toilet industry.
And lastly, I give a solemn nod of deep respect to Farquaad Star Squad, a delightful couple who gleefully opted to put this quizmaster to the test with a tongue twister that looks deceptively simple on paper, but is a bit of a challenge coming out of the mouth. Try saying it three tines quickly and you'll see what I mean.
