The Pub at Golden Road Brewing is so well-lit, warm, and everyone is so nice.

This was a fun night with stiff competition and some well-dressed people. It's like there was some sort of holiday or something.

On a completely unrelated note, people started to notice some sort of Valentine's Day theme.

A photo finish! Yup, that's what they call it in horse racing when the top three finishers end up neck-and-neck-and-neck at the end of the race! 61/59/58 is about as close as you can get without a tiebreaker (though we can do that! Oh yes, we surely can do THAT!).

But no tiebreaker was needed as Pobody's Nerfect survived the onslaught to emerge victorious over Illumi-Naughty and Golden Road Showers.

And truthfully, you can add another "neck" to that close finish, with The Flying Walruses staging an impressive late-game surge to finish just one point shy with a solid 57!

We KNEW it was gonna be tight at the end. Going into the final round, Tyrannosaurus Cox-Nights, The Wet Bandits and Hot Dawg were neck-and-neck-and-neck with scores of 62/61/60, with Don't Thank Music? close on their heels with 57!

When the dust settled, the T-Rex Crew and the Wet Bandits were locked up tight with identical scores of 67! A tie-breaker settled the matter, but it was a heart-breaker for Don't Thank Music?, who outperformed the scoreboard leaders on the final round but still ended up just one point shy of winning a gift certificate!

Man! That's gotta hurt! But that's what makes for a great trivia quiz, out on the Golden Road patio on a near perfect southern California mid-winter's night. (It was the kind of night that makes people in other - colder - parts of the country both hate and envy us! We like that!!)
