The Pub at Golden Road is a full-service, family-friendly environment located just a stone’s throw from Griffith Park in Atwater Village. Open 7 days a week, The Pub offers ample indoor and outdoor seating, over a dozen Golden Road beers on tap, and games for the young (and young at heart).

When this week's winning team had just five points after the first three rounds, they might have given up, or they might have paused to ponder Sir Winston's wisdom, and dug a little deeper.
Bad Dads opted to hunker down and get serious, and with successful double in the final three rounds, climbed out of the hole they'd dug for themselves and squeaked past last week's winners, The Donner Party Train for the win.
The Donners (and Marie?) took 2nd this week with another strong showing, and newcomers Zeetus Lapeetus rounded out our top three finishers.

We had quite the three-way battle this week among our top three finishers, The Donner Party Train (1st) The Bad Explainers (2nd) and #squadgoals 3rd), with the well-executed double-or-nothing attempt once again making the crucial difference that put these three outstanding competitors at the top of our leaderboard.

We were curious about some of the team names in use last night. While "Pobody's Nerfect" is self-explanatory, we asked The Bad Explainers to tell us how they chose their name, but they were unable to tell us - which makes sense, when you think about it.
We asked The Angry Badgers what the badgers were angry about, and it turns out badgers are just sort of naturally angry. A state of affairs that was NOT improved when they finished in 13th place!!

What a great ...no, make that fantastic ...no, make that superlative! Yes! Superlative. What a SUPERLATIVE stand-out night we had this week at Golden Road Brewery in Glendale!
What made it so special!? Competition, kids!! What a competitive group of quizzers we had, as league play gets underway! Indeed, no fewer than ten teams finished within one successful double of the winner's circle. Ten out of 20 within ten points of glory! Outstanding.
Of course, that does not include Paige Wieners who desperately attempted not one; not two, but THREE double-or-nothing moves in the final three rounds. Alas, they came up empty each time, but we sure admire their courage!!
