The Simpsons is at it again! After 30 years on TV, a movie, countless comic books, memorabilia, action figures, a theme park ride, food, drinks, a stage musical (well, not yet...), and a trivia night four years ago - The Simpsons were back at King Trivia!
The teams came with their Simpsons shirts and hats (and at least one pair of socks). A couple teams even brought mascots: a Ralph Wiggum-picking-his-nose doll and the life-saving, heroic inanimate carbon rod (and yes, there were close-ups of the rod).
Seasons 1-10 were the focus of the evening, but there still wasn't enough trivia to include all the beloved characters: Poochie, Frank Grimes, Bleeding Gums Murphy, Lionel Hutz, Dr. Marvin Monroe, Rev. Lovejoy, Lou and Carl, The Capital City Goofball, Smithers, and Sideshow Bob (among many others) were left on the cutting room floor. But not to fear! The Flandereses were represented, as was Mr. Burns, Kent Brockman, Cletus, Nelson Munz, Apu, Moe, Llewellyn Sinclair, Troy McClure, Lyle Lanley, Mrs. Krabappel, and the Simpsons family (among many others).
While we wanted to give out a 4-pack of tickets to Itchy & Scratchy Land to our first place team, we could only acquire tickets to Euro Itchy & Scratchy Land (and who wants to go there?). Instead, the first place team won a whopping $300 (one dollar for each pound Homer wanted to weigh to claim disability).
It was a fun night of nerding-out over the Simpsons. Can't wait for the 60th Season so we can do this all again!

As always happens this time of year, competition is really heating up as the big Season 9 Tournament of Champions approaches.
Tested Positive For Hogwarts (aka Westeros Baptist Church)put forth a strong performance this week at Golden Road Brewery in Glendale, taking the win with an very strong 92 points. It's no wonder these accomplished quizzers are currently among our top-ranked teams with just a few weeks left to go.
Speaking of competition, The Bad Explainers put forth a great effort to give Hogwarts a run for their money - and maintain their position in the "top 100" - by coming in second with an impressive 84 points.
Stick Man rounded out our top three with an 82, but they haven't yet registered their team! There's still time, Stick Man! Get off the stick and get on the beam! REGISTER!
And just an FYI: The best way to treat (hog)warts is to rub a little grindelwald on them, of course.
