QUIZ RECAP

No matter what is going on in your life, there's always a fun and well deserved break you can take from it at Pickwick's Pub in Woodland Hills for King Trivia every Wednesday night! This past Wednesday was another fun escape for several quizzers hoping to seek their share of free shots, or a 20 or 30 dollar gift card.

For the drinking round, teams had to write down one question they would ask, if they could only ask one question to a potential hire, and they had to make a decision of whether or not to hire this person based on their answer to the one question. All submissions are posted above. Our winning team was The Failing New York Times, with their question, "Did you, or did you not collude with the Russians?" It was poingnant, relevant in current events, and made us chuckle. So they won the round of shots for their team.

Coming in second place were the always tough to beat Mighty Mighty Puffins, who only lost first place by one point. They scored 84 points and got every question right from round 1 to round 5, and they got the round 4 correct answer on the 10 point clue! Nevertheless, it was a great showing and they won a $20 gift certificate.

Coming in 1st place and beating out the Puffins by one point, thanks to successful double or nothings in rounds 2, 3, 5 and 6, were Hanky Panky! They unsuccessfully doubled down on the final round, but still had enough points to beat the Puffins and every other team in the bar, with 85 points after round 6. Way to go! Enjoy that $30 gift certificate!

What a Wednesday! Pickwick's Pub in Woodland Hills was packed to the brim with quizzers of all different shapes and sizes! 75 people came out for another game of King Trivia!

For the drinking round, each team had to send up a player, who would have to race around half the bar with a pack of King Trivia answer booklets balanced on their head. If the pack fell off at all, that team would be out. Whichever team did it the fastest would win a round of shots.

A few teams had trouble keeping the stack of answer sheets on their heads and were quickly eliminated, but several teams were able to complete the task successfully. The first team to complete successfully was Hanky Panky, who did it in 17.54 seconds. The next team to complete the task was Nemesis, who did it in 15.17 seconds! Even faster still, were teams Hey Alexa, What Is..., Danimal Rules, and We Will Always Have Paris, who finished in 12.66 seconds, 11.01 seconds, and 10.44 seconds respectively. However, none of the teams were fast enough for the last team to go, the Sexy Butches, who finished in a lightning-fast 9.08 seconds, winning them the round of shots!! Awesome job!

In 3rd Place, scoring 68 points, was Diversity Poster, who successfully doubled down in rounds 2 and 5, helping them land the $10 gift certificate!

Coming in second place, helped by timely double downs in rounds 5 and round 7, scoring 69 points, (great score BTW), was Alternative Facts! They won a $20 gift certificate!

And last, but never least, our first place team, the Mighty Mighty Puffins! They successfully doubled down in rounds 1, 2, and 5, and scored 73 points! One $30 gift certificate left with them on Wednesday night!

These Wednesdays keep flying by don't they? Another game of King Trivia has come and gone at Pickwick's Pub on Wednesday nights in Woodland Hills! And if you missed it, you missed a good one. I'll tell you what happened...

For the drinking round, teams had to send up a player on their team that sucked the most! Whoever was the best at sucking on each team was sent up one at a time to compete in a little game. Each team had to use a straw to suction on to M & M's that were on a plate on a table and transfer one M & M at a time to another plate on another table. Whoever has the most M & M's transferred in 20 seconds would win the Drinking Round and a round of shots for their team. In the first round, teams Dormant Volcano and Topsy Turvy both successfully transferred 9 M & M's! So we went to a sudden death elimination. Both teams had to try and transfer as many as they could in 15 seconds! Well team Dormant Volcano won the round by successfully transferring 6 M & M's in 15 seconds and won the round of shots! Way to go!

Coming in 3rd place with 47 points, and taking home the $10 gift certificate, was Team What! Awesome!

In second place, scoring 58 points, and taking home the $20 gift certificate, was team Hanky Panky!

And coming in first place, scoring a whopping 62 points, benefitting from two successful double or nothings, were Alternative Facts! Way to take home that $30 gift certificate 1st place prize!
