About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

Undaunted and loaded for bear, The Blanches put forth a tremendous winning performance this week at The Famous in Glendale. Their impressive 86-point score left their competition eating dust, metaphorically speaking.

Team Vitamin D! spit that dust right out of their mouths and marched right into second place with 72 points. And Couldn't COVID Us To Stay Home (aka Bad News Barristers) rounded out our top three with 64.

We had some good fun goin' on at The Famous in Glendale this week, with Bad News Barristers offering up their best performance of the past few weeks to win the quiz with an impressive 81 points.

Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink returned to the winner's circle in the number two spot, with 62 points, but the real nail-biter took place in the battle for third.

It had been a neck-and-neck battle all evening between Yer a Quizard Harry and Electric Moustache, with the two teams matching each other's scores round after round. And they were locked in a 50-point tie goin into round seven.

The Moustache crew offered up an answer sheet with 9 correct answers, only to be bested by the Quizards who came back with a 10-point score to secure third place. Wow! Competition excitement, indeed!

It was all about The Blanches at this week's session of King Trivia excitement at The Famous on Brand in Glendale. The tremendous trio of smartypants women in photo #1 - known to their friends as Amy, Mimi and Andrienne - took on a strong field of competitors and emerged victorious with an impressive 81-point win.

When in Ramen did as the Ramens do and scored a second place win with 75 points. And The Bad News Barristers (featuring Richie, carrying Devan on his very strong back!) rounded out the top three with 70 points.

It was a close shave for Let's Get a Brazilian, who finished just one point behind The Barristers and therein came within a hair's breadth of winners-circle glory.

At the other end of the scoring spectrum, we encouraged Anna and Sophia to play together as a team. But noooooo! They insisted on playing as individuals, competing head-to-head in order to "see which one of us is smarter!" said Sophia. Or it might have been Anna. Not sure which.

Their nearly equal final scores suggest that they are pretty evenly matched, so the friendship will likely survive this challenge. Come challenge yourself (and your friends) when we meet once again next Thursday for another session of the best live trivia quiz on the planet! See ya then!
