About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

A good crowd of enthusiastic trivia quiz lovers gathered at The Famous in Glendale this week, to put themselves - and each other - to the test, with the usual raucous result.

It was a good night for Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink, who returned to their winning ways, with Sorry We're Late and Yer a Quizard Harry rounding out our top three.

In a striking example of just how competitive an evening of King Trivia frequently gets, the delightful trio calling themselves The Blanches finished in fourth place, just one point out of the winner's circle!!

That's right! One point! When you come to a King Trivia event, be sure to bring your "A" game!

We tip our official quizmaster cap to the Preschool Crew, who had a combined total of just 22 points after the first four rounds of trivia quizziness at The Famous this week in Glendale. That inauspicious start didn't prevent the Preschoolers from doubling successfully in each of the final three rounds to finish in first place!

That 60-point bonanza was enough to edge out trivia quiz stalwarts Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink by just one point! The Jeopardizers nonetheless finished in second, followed by the Electric Moustache who delivered another high voltage performance to finish in third.

When in Ramen wasn't noodling around this week at The Famous in Glendale. They came to win, and win they did with a very strong, al dente performance.

And you know the old saying: when in Ramen, do as the Ramen do. and those bad boys and girls of the Bad Boys Breakfast Club certainly did, with an 81-point second place performance that was just four points shy of the noodle crew. It's true! I promise.

Trivia regular The Blanches completed our winning troika with another in a long string of winning efforts, and the "favorite team name of the night" award goes to Peter From The Latest Season of The Bachelor.

What award does Peter get for his clever moniker? That's easy! We dedicate this bachelor-appropriate song to you, sir! So there ya go...
