About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

Overheard at The Famous in Glendale during this week's haunting trivia quiz: "Ya know...putting a few ounces of brown gravy in a whoopie cushion adds a delightful new level of humor to a timelessly classic prank!" *

As the photos above clearly illustrate, the spooks and ghouls and an array of costumed contestants gathered at The Famous this week for a haunting round of King Trivia chills and thrills.

Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink's Matty led his team to victory with an awesome Billy Porter costume (photo #1), despite teammates Doug, Mike and Stephanie opting out of the costume drama!

I Spooped My Pants finished a strong second, and offered advice on fun ways to execute delightful practical jokes (see quote above). And The Blanches rounded out out top three with a strong late-game surge.

We can't finish this recap without a nod of deep appreciation to The Joker and The Riddler (photo #5) who impressed us deeply with their commitment to costumed excellence. Well done, friends!

A three-way tie!? Oh, yeah. That's how the trivia competitors roll at The Famous on Brand in Glendale. Electric Moustache, GriffinWhores and Chrissy Tiegen & Scare-Ah finished regulation play in a tight troika of tenacious trivia team excellence with 55-points apiece.

A tie-breaker question saw the Moustache crew edge their way into a third place finish, with Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink finishing in 2nd, and Mike Pence None The Richer taking the top spot with a stellar 84-point performance.

Yes, if trivia excellence is in your DNA, and you want to test yourself against the best, The Famous is the place for you! And we'll be back for more next Thursday. See ya then!

As usual, it was a very competitive evening of trivia fun this week at The Famous on Brand in Glendale, with strong performances by many of our favorite teams. And when the dust settled, Electric Moustache emerged from the fray with a triumphant one-point win. That's them right there in photo #1, celebrating as only a single-digit winner can.

But it's not like When in Ramen made it easy for 'em. In fact, the lead changed hands several times throughout the quiz, and the slim margin of victory is clear evidence of this team's trivia prowess. Seventy-five points!? That's using the ol' noodle, Ramen!

There's a Speakeasy in the Bathroom completes our trio of top performers this week. You might think that confusing a urinal for a speakeasy is an indication that they'd had a little too much to drink, but their 69-point third place performance suggests that the team's brain power was undiminished. Still, if one of the speakeasy crew offers you a drink, you might wanna decline!

Yup, another great night at The Famous. And though we had a good sized crowd, there's always room for more. We'll be back next week. Come check it out!
