About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

That good-lookin' quartet of happy-lookin' people depicted in photo#1 comprise Home Free, who had a great night last night at The Famous on Brand in Glendale. Indeed, they were home free in first place, winning our weekly quiz competition with a healthy 72 points.

The equally happy (but somewhat goofier looking) trio in photo#2 are The Bad News Barristers, who rode into second place on the strength of two successful double-or-nothing attempts to achieve 69 points. Well done, friends.

And rounding out our top three finishers is Quiz in my Pants (photo #3) who finished the night just one point behind the Barristers to finish with 68! (A little soda water will get that quiz right out of your pants, we've been told.)

And a big thumbs up to Shelby Brothers, Ltd, (photo #9), who may have been the most cheerful guy in the place all night, as he attempted the difficult solo run at the quiz. Good job, Shelby! See ya all next week!

The first night of the 2019 MLB playoffs was a raucous affair at The Famous in Glendale, and both the Dodgers and Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink (photo #1 above) had a big, big night, coming on like gangbusters and looking pretty unbeatable.

Let's Get a Brazilian (photo #2) waxed enthusiastically to land in second place, and Karl Hornbauer (photo #3) was a two-man wrecking crew, brushing aside the competition like and inside fastball to finish in third.

You can get a Dodger Dog in October!
