About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

Freshly returned from the big $10,000 Tournament of Champions last week, stalwart tourney competitors Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink launched their campaign to return to the TOC by winning the night at The Famous on Brand this week in Glendale.

The lovely ladies who call themselves The Blanches gave the Jeopardy crew a bit of strong competition, finishing with 61 points and second place honors, while In-Your-Endo provided a bit of innuendo with their 48-point, third place performance.

We also saw flashes of brilliance from McFatterson, Talk Nerdy To Me and Mitch McGonagall, and The Parkers played proudly while Kit Kat gave it a bold effort with back-to-back double down attempts in the final rounds that would have put them at the top of the heap, had they been successful.

Alas, they were not. But YOU could be when you join us for more trivia fun next week at The Famous. See ya then.

In what they said will serve as a final tune-up before the big King Trivia Tournament of Champions this weekend, Talk Nerdy To Me scored an impressive 88 points to win the night at The Famous on Brand in Glendale.

Gentle Sweaters didn't allow the fabric softener to lighten the impact of their 84-point second place finish, and frequent top-three finishers The Blanches didn't flinch in the face of still competition, and came in third with an impressive 84.

Lots of new friends and new faces this week, using delightfully amusing team names like The Never Nudes and Young, Dumb and Broke.

All of our new quizzing friends should make use of the "Create Team" tab over there on the side of the page, and take a moment to register your teams. After all, our all-new, ninth season of League Play - which leads to the crescendo known as the Tournament of Champions - will launch next week!

In what may well have been a final tune up before the big $10,000 Tournament of Champions coming up next week (spectator tickets here), perennial King Trivia powerhouse Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink (photo #1) ran roughshod over the competition at The Famous on Brand in Glendale this week, winning the night with an almost unheard of 95 points!

Still, Tequila Mockingbird and Bad News Barristers (both formidable teams in their own right) didn't make it easy for the Jeopardy crew, logging scores of 84 and 78 points respectively - which would have been good enough for top honors on most nights.
