Those happy men enjoying a little adult refreshment in photo number one are two-thirds of Bad News Barristers, winners of this week's trivia quiz at The Famous on Brand in Glendale. Photo #2 reveals their third cohort, who was unavailable for photo one because she was busy throwing wet paper towels at the members of Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink. It's a bit of a rivalry, to be sure, and can get a little...intense!
What's that you say? That woman looks too sweet and innocent to ever engage in behavior such as name calling and wet-paper-towel throwing!? Oh! You have noooooo idea what she's capable of! Look at the fear in the faces of the Jeopardy guys in photo #3! They are clearly terrified!
Rightly so. Mike and Ritchie - the other two guys on her team - are so afraid of her when they lose that they drink to calm their anxiety! (Look at photo #1 again. You see it now, right!? Devan is a tyrant! Especially when she loses, which hasn't happened much in the past few weeks.
Won't someone rise to the occasion and take her down a notch!?
On a separate note, we heartily welcome the lovely ladies calling themselves The Dorothys, (phot0 #6) who were experiencing King Trivia for the first time after playing at venues featuring other versions of pub trivia. "We heard about King Trivia and wanted to give it a try," a Dorothy said with enthusiasm. "This is great - the best trivia game we've ever played!"
Well, that's high praise, ladies. We're too modest to agree, but too honest to disagree. But we certainly liked you, too, and look forward to seeing you again soon.
Next Thursday, perhaps. Hope so...
The big question this week at The Famous on Brand in Glendale wasn't part of the trivia quiz. The big question of the night was about the quiz-tastic competition that takes place each week in the friendly confines of The Famous.
The big question was: could they do it again? Could The Bad News Barristers finish in the top spot for the third week in a row!? Could this dynamic trio pull off the of-so-rare three-win hat trick!?
Things didn't look good midway through the night, with newcomers Truffle Shuffle holding a solid lead through the first five rounds. But the Shufflers stumbled in Round Six, opening the door for the Barristers to jump ahead, along with Triviasaurus Rex to an oh-so-slim one-point lead with just one round left!
As it so often does, it all came down to a decisive Round 7! Would the Baristers pull off the hat trick!?!? NOOOOOO!! The Triviasaurs used their tiny little arms to grab hold of seven points in the final, and it was Bad News for the Barristers, who logged in with five points, for second place.
