QUIZ RECAP

We laughed; we sang; we made merry and felt the joy of fellowship during the weekly soiree known as Trivia Night at The Famous in Glendale.

Speaking of laughter, this quizmaster got a good chuckle out of the delightful team name It's Not Herpes - It's Corona Virus! I mean, sure...that's reassuring!

Fresh off their campaign to test their mettle at the recent King Trivia Tournament of Champions (aka the TOC), Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink proved that their mettle remains strong by winning the night with a strong 76-point performance. And yet The Blanches didn't flinch in the face of such robust competition, coming is second, just a few points behind.

Hey! Speaking of the TOC, If you haven't done so already, now is the time to register your team for the next session of league play. If your team already has a five-digit ID number, don't fret. You're already registered.

But if you don't have a team number just yet, the time to get one is NOW. It's free! It's fun! And ya never know, you just might make it to the next big TOC tournament!

QUIZ RECAP

Call me an old softie, but I've gotta admit it warmed this quizmaster's heart to see and hear all the words of encouragement offered to Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink (photo #1) this week, at The Famous, as BJWLUD prepared to do battle in the big Tournament of Champions this Saturday.

That's right! One of our favorite groups of regulars is Tournament bound after a spectacular performance in King Trivia League Play. The expressions of support from other teams were nearly unanimous last night, as word spread of the impending tourney action.

Nearly unanimous, but not entirely. Turned out that the stalwart and formidable Barely Barristers (who usually compete as The Bad News Barristers) felt that the best way to send the Jeopardy crew into battle was to provide a little competitive inspiration - and humility - by winning the night!

Jeopardy finished in second and - now properly schooled by the Barristers - ready to ruthlessly destroy other tourney teams and drink the blood of their lessors - metaphorically speaking, of course. Go get 'em, BJWLUD! We look forward to hearing all about it next week.

P.S. Quick shout out to our favorite team name of the night: Chris Martin's Ex Wife's Latest Candle. Funny stuff, that. I smell a clever team name! See ya next week.

QUIZ RECAP

With the King Trivia Tournament of Champions just eight days away, Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink kept their minds sharp and their wits honed by leading all scoring this week at The Famous in Glendale. Good luck at the tournament, fellas!

Their 89-point performance was enough to give the Jeopardy crew the win, but Bad Boys Breakfast Club didn't make it easy for 'em. BBBC's strong 87-point performance was just two points shy of the top spot, and made for a tense, exciting finish to the night's quiz.

The Carl Hornbauers had a good night, as well, winning the Drinking Round and finishing in the #3 spot in our winner's troika. Nicely done, Carls! You have every right to toot your own horn-bauers.
