About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

Trivia lovers were in a jubilant, pre-holiday mood this week at The Famous in Glendale, with a holiday spirit infusing the quizinators with a sense of giddy antici...(wait for it)...pation.

Dr. Professor Fiona McGonagall challenged new quizmaster Ian to say "Dr. Professor Fiona McGonagall" several times throughout the night whenever scores were announced, and then again at the end to congratulate their winning effort.

Electric Moustache won the drinking round, which may explain why they seemed a little extra giddy by the end of the quiz. And The Bad News Barristers finished in the winners circle for the first time in a while, after a string of close-but-no-cigar finishes in recent weeks.

Talk Nerdy To Me definitely speaks our language, and rounded out our top three winner's circle with The Blanches close (but again, no cigar) on their heels to finish fourth.

We'll be taking a night off next week to celebrate Thanksgiving, and we here at King Trivia are thankful once again for the enthusiastic support of our many loyal fans, who have made us the leading live pub quiz show provider in Southern California (and growing rapidly!)

At some point during every trivia quiz, this quizmaster likes to spend a few moments discussing the many beneficial effects of eating more dried grapes. Why? Because I'm all about raisin awareness.

We had us a delightful night full of trivia fun and awareness raisin' this week at The Famous in Glendale. The always formidable fellows of Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink won the night with another strong performance.

But the real action was for the #2 spot, and You're a Quizzard, Harry held off the very determined Team Vitamin D with an exciting tie-breaker win in overtime! Well done, all!

"Your jokes are lame and you're not as funny as you think you are," said Mike Pence None the Richer team leader Matt while turning in an answer sheet. "Also, you dress weird and you have an odd aroma," he added.

That's the aroma of victory, Matt! The aura of power and authority that comes with being a King Trivia Quizmaster! (See there, Matt!? I told you I'd mention you in the recap! And a quizmaster is always true to their word!)
