What a battle we had this week at The Famous on Brand in Glendale! It was fierce! It was intense! And it was driven by last week's champions - The Blanches - (photo#4 above) who were intent on achieving the rare twofer, aka back-to-back first place finishes!
Could they do it!? WOULD they do it!? It's Pronounced "GIF" said NO!! They may have been fuzzy on the issue of whether the "g" is soft or hard when saying "GIF," but they were stalwart and certain in their determined effort to win the night! And win they did. But it was a battle from start to finish!
Team Vitamin D! rounded out our top three, but everyone had a great time, as usual. Especially the Bad News Barristers, who received good news in the form of a winning drinking round effort! Bottoms up, kids! See ya next week.

What a crowd tonight! The first few rounds were a little quiet, but as the evening picked up and our players ordered more drinks, folks started to get more and more excited/disappointed about the answers. I'm always a big fan of teams who feel invested in their gameplay!
Shout out to The Blanches, who had a team member celebrating a birthday this evening. Hope you had a great night filled with fun and friends, and congrats on your first place win!
In second place we had the Bad Explainers. who had a slower start but found their groove and stuck with it. Fantastic job, especially on round five!
Finally, big props to our third place winners, Yer A Quizard Harry. They did exceptionally well in round 3, with a successful double-or-nothing. Looks like you all know your restaurant chains!
Thanks, also, to all the teams for being great sports for our drinking round. I asked our teams to tell me what they would name their shell corporation to hide all their money. Some great answers, but the winner of the evening was "Trump Hotels & Casinos". I also loved "Ribs For Your Pleasure" and "White House Inc".

That smug-looking group of women in photo#1 are The Blanches! And yes, I supposed we have no choice but to indulge their "oh yeah, we RULE!" attitude. After all, the happy trio of King Trivia regulars did indeed rule the night this week at The Famous in Glendale.
After a disappointing 5th place finish last week, The Blanches came roaring back last night to win our weekly quiz with an impressive 92 points, edging out Even Little Bow Wow, who finished a very close 2nd.
But The Blanches weren't satisfied with just wining the quiz. Noooooo! They also won the drinking round! And that extra alcohol may partially explain why they stood up on their couch when their victory was announced and starting chanting "we kicked your butts - we kicked your butts!" while taunting and pointing at last week's winners, Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink (who finished in 4th last night, just one point out of the winner's circle.
The Bad Explainers finished in 3rd and, to their credit, accepted their gift certificate with class and grace, even when the Blanches started yelling "you got nuthin' ...YOU GOT NUTHIN'!" at them from across the bar.*
On a separate note, this quizmaster is always delighted to add a new name to my "favorite fun team names list." And we got a good one last night. I salute you, Big Test Tickles! You made me enunciate carefully and clearly this week, lest I speak too quickly and suggest a more robust endowment than reality bestowed upon you!
